Frequently Asked Questions For Students
Do I need any experience to join?Nope, our workshops are designed to be suitable for beginner improvisers all the way up to folks with several years of experience.
Isn't improv about being funny? What if I'm not funny?Improv does have roots in improv comedy, but in our eyes it has more to do with practicing real world communication skills like listening, support, and expressiveness while having ridiculous amounts of fun.
What if I tried meditation before and didn't like it?There are many ways to practice mindfulness. We create bite-sized opportunities to experience it from multiple angles, so it becomes something you can actually integrate into your work and life in a fun and engaging way.
Why Mindfulness and Improv together?Beyond the communication and creativity skills your practice, improv can bring up real discomfort. We all carry different stories about what feels safe to express. Mindfulness gives us a way to sit with that discomfort with curiosity instead of judgment, and that skill travels well beyond the experiences we create.
What does a typical workshop look like? Our workshops start and end with short and pleasant meditations. After that, we warm up our bodies and our connection to our creative impulse and slowly work towards games with greater complexity while weaving in lessons from improv. We always adapt it to whatever is arising and create room for any unpredictable creative impulses.
What is different about this from other improv classes? We combine improv principles with our experience studying movement, meditation, the nervous system and other related curiosities. Most improv classes teach people how to perform on stage. We teach that too, but our main mission is to create experiences for people to connect to greater freedom within themselves so they can feel more free in their lives outside of class.
Frequently Asked Questions For Businesses
Do you offer custom workshops or just off-the-shelf formats? We have programs we love and run regularly, but we're improvisers, so we know no two teams are the same. If your team needs something that blends communication, movement, and mindfulness in a specific way, we'd love to build that with you.

What makes you different? Our background spans improv, physical fitness, tech, music, and sports.
