Grahame and Adam founded ImprovHuman after meeting at a Halloween party where they found themselves in a real live improv scene. Adam, dressed as the love doctor, could see that Grahame was in need of his services, so he offered Grahame a healing freestyle battle.

The alchemical rhyme cauldron they cocreated initiated a transformational process that led to the inception of ImprovHuman.

Through further conversations, they both found out they were improvisers with a curiosity about how improv comedy fit into the wellness space. Grahame, a fitness trainer and musician, and Adam, a Somatic Coach, both felt like the skills from improv were fundamental in their creative and relational toolbelts.Their improv experiences aided in their abilities to be themselves and feel vibrant in their bodies well after their improv classes ended.

All of that said, our previous class experiences were strongly geared towards performing on stage and glossed over relevant experiences like working with emotions, staying present with intensity in the body, and integrating the insights from class into their daily lives.

Our workshops and series are designed to satisfy these curiosities by blending improv exercises, mindfulness, and movement to create experiences that inspire positive change in our lives.

Grahame and Adam like to say that literally EVERYTHING is Improv. Whether it be a conversation with a stranger, a work presentation, a creative project, or a dance party, we believe that the practicing the skills of improv and mindfulness are foundational for creating a flourishing life.
